Northcenter

Northcenter, a neighborhood in the community area of North Center, has deep ties to it's German heritage. Much like Lincoln Square to the north, Northcenter has it's fair share German restaurants and taverns, and this cultural influence can be seen in the architecture of the buildings and homes that were built here in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

While still holding on to it's European-influenced charm, Northcenter has become a more diverse and vibrant neighborhood, boasting a wide-ranging mix of retailers, restaurants, and live music along it's Lincoln Avenue commercial strip. The neighborhood is also known for hosting Ribfest Chicago, a pork-centric street festival that officially kicks off the summer in the eyes of many Chicagoans.
